November 10th Celebrate Fall with Bonsai and Kamishibai!

Coming Sunday, November 10, 2024, embrace Fall in the Japanese Garden as the leaves change color and the weather turns chilly! SuihoEn, the beautiful garden next to the Tillman Reclamation Center, will have a special Sunday opening, from 9:30am – 3:30pm, with bonsai demonstrations, Kamishibai storytelling and docent tours through the garden.



Sansui-Kai Bonsai Club will be set up just outside the garden’s entry gate, where they will hold demonastartions for Bonsai - the art of cultivating miniature trees. Sansui Kai will also hold a sale of some very unique Bonsai pieces!



Michael Fritzen, Chairperson of the Japanese Garden Mayor’s Advisory Committee, will be on hand to present a Kamishibai Storytelling.  Kamishibai literally means “paper theater” in Japanese, and presents fables using illustrated paper cards along with oration.



Admission is FREE, and Docent tours of the Garden will be available! Please check in with the Admission Office to gain access. More information may be found at www.thejapanesegarden.com  Free!
